Though she isn’t a household name just yet, if you have ever gotten
the chance to catch an episode of Shut Up Flower Boy Band, then you
would know this girl by face. Lim Kim was lucky enough to land herself
the role of L from Infinite’s love interest in the drama. But before
that brief intermission into the limelight, Lim Kim (her real name: Kim
Ye-rim) was first thrust into the industry after finishing third place
in MNET’s Superstar K3 alongside Do Dae-yoon. The two were then set to
debut together as a duo under the name Two Months as decided by the
company Mystic89. Although their debut had to be pushed back due to Do Dae-yoon having
to finish his studies in the United States, the company decided to pull
through with Lim Kim’s solo debut with the track “All right”. Before this, a preview track entitled Colorring was released with a
lyric video, and 2 weeks before the release of her music video for All
Right, a rather sultry teaser was released to keep the audience
guessing. I’d have to say, her voice along with the track is quite hypnotic to
listen to. It isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but I doubt that
you won’t be watching this music video from start to end. The video
itself is simple and very inclined to the lyrics of the song. What
really pulls you in is Lim Kim’s subtle husky tenor and the way it
drifts through the track so effortlessly. Her album “A Voice” is now available for purchase.

Kim Yerim Speaks About Comparisons, ‘Every Artist is Unique’
Two Month’s Kim Yerim, who debuted as a solo artist this week,
shared her thoughts about the constant comparisons that are made about
her. At her showcase event on June 18, she said, “I know that I am being
compared to other musicians but every artist is unique and has something
different.” She added, “We may both be from audition TV shows, but our voices are
distinct and our colors of music are clearly different. Baek Ah Yeon
and I returned with our albums at the same time. As a fellow musician in
K-pop, I enjoy listening to her songs.” Asked about her initial success on music charts, she remarked, “A lot
of preparation went into this album and I am so glad and proud that the
result has been promising so far. That takes some pressure off of me
about the long hiatus.” Kim Ye-rim put on a live performance of “All Right” as well as “Color Ring” and “You Don’t Even Know.”

Kim Eun Bi to Stay in YG's New Girl Group, 'Yoona Kim Leaves Due to Personal Issues'
YG Entertainment revealed that Kim Eun Bi would be staying in the
new girl group while Yoona Kim will not be joining the group due to
personal issues. YG revealed on their blog that the members of this new girl group
have been practicing for 3 years and are on average around the age of
17. They also stated that they are fluent in English and Japanese. The other two members revealed to be in this new group is Jennie Kim
and Kim Ji Soo. They will be debuting solo in October and debut as a
group next year.
Girl group 2NE1 will unveil one song every month starting next month, said Yang Hyun-suk, the chief producer at YG Entertainment. “Though the girls have remained committed to continuously releasing
new work, the group was only able to release the song ‘I Love You’ last
year due to other commitments, including a world tour”, Yang said
yesterday. “So the group plans on meeting with local fans throughout the
end of the year as we decided that it would be better to release a song
with a music video every month from the collection the group has worked
on in the past two years instead of releasing them in one album”. After releasing three songs by September, the group will release
either a new EP or a second regular album in October. This means that
fans are guaranteed at least four new songs this year. The girls will also try to include reggae in their songs for the
first time. The first to be released, “Falling in Love”, is expected to
be a refreshing change for fans. “Although the piece certainly has elements of a new genre, it still includes the character of 2NE1
that has grown popular over the years”, Yang explained. “It should be
popular among hardcore fans and the general public as we developed it
with new choreographers overseas”. Yang will make an additional announcement with more details about the
girl group’s plans today. The message was posted on the agency’s blog
under the title “From YG”. Yang has not made such posts on the blog
since 2010, but he will begin using the blog again to communicate with
local music fans.
On June 17, Lee Hyori made a guest appearance on SBS’s Power FM program, “Jang Ki Ha‘s Amazing Radio.” On that day, DJ Jang Ki Ha asked Lee Hyori, “What is your greatest
fear?” to which she jokingly replied, “Ghosts.” However, the female
singer went on to confess that she was most afraid of “losing herself.” She explained, “I don’t want to lose sight of who I am by being
caught up with following everyone else. I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to
recognize my true self.” About her fifth album that she released after three years, Lee Hyori
shared, “This album is special because it represents the ‘before’ and
‘after’ Hyori. Since I set the bar pretty high for myself, I never dared
to consider writing my own songs for release. But someone once told me
that even songs written by an amateur like myself could be part of my
record, so I mustered the courage to use my original song, ‘Miss Korea‘ as the title track for my latest album.”

reflects the personality of the singer that wants to be looked as “cool”
instead of “sexy”. In an interview, CL shared the meaning of ‘The Baddest Female’:
“Someone who does her best in what she does, and a passionate person who
is not afraid to voice her opinion with confidence.” Growing up and was enrolled in an international school since young
exposed her to globalization and the understanding of culture and
perception, that pushed the idea further. “It’s my motto and belief. I
realized that people have a certain image of Asian women in mind… they
expect Asian women to be introverted and quiet. I wanted to show them
there are different sides to Asian women.” The powerful songstress continues to showcase her talent in her
ongoing activities on music charts, international concerts and being
with 2NE1 with their upcoming new music activity.
